mk North America Appoints New Michigan Territory Manager: Bill Dick

It all began in 1992 when William (Bill) Dick was in the process of expanding his portfolio of companies he was representing as an independent manufacturers sales representative in the state of Michigan. Bill came across mk North America, Inc. (mk Automation Engineering, as it was called in 1992) in the Thomas Register. Bill had been hoping to add a conveyor manufacturer to his line, and met with the sales manager at the time. The rest as they say is history.

When Bill and I spoke he remembered fondly how small mk was back in the early 90s with “just  three or so conveyor models” – a belt conveyor, a chain conveyor and a timing belt conveyor.

Bill continued to represent mk North America through 2019, via his company AB Components.

Deanna (Dee) Ridgway joined mk North America, Inc. in January 2019 as Manager of Human Resources and Accounting.

Automate 2019 - Exciting News

mk North America is excited to announce that they will be exhibiting at Automate 2019, April 08-11 at McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. 

mk is prepared to launch an all new option for the VersaMove pallet-handling line of conveyor systems at Automate this year. This expansion of the VersaMove line will bring numerous benefits to the customer, their employees and the environment. 

Kevin Doughney - Reflecting on 25 Years at mk

In 1993, Kevin Doughney had years of experience working as a machinist for Sikorsky Aircraft and United Technologies, and was looking to make a change to a smaller company. In the late fall of that year he met with a man named Andreas Tietje, who started the North American division of Maschinenbau Kitz just five years earlier, mk Automation Engineering. On December 5, 1993 Kevin became the fifth employee at mk. The rest, they say, is history. I had the pleasure of sitting down and chatting with Kevin about the changes he has seen not only in mk, but within the industry as a whole.
